Day 6 of Black Gold: Alphachruch of the Buvontians

Initial Reaction

I really liked the Dead Rising mission where I had to fight of many zombies with my carrier. It was fun and it let me use my carrier with a purpose. I'm also starting to like the environment. It really feels like the industrial times. Thanks Snail for the really nice effort!
Alphachruch with her new sword

First Person Role Playing

I awoke and immediately ran outside to where Lemos stood. He was waiting there, like yesterday, and merely glanced as I approached him. He recommended that I change my title. He preferred if I was called Broken Arrow Alphachruch. After changing my title with his help he told me to attack on the front. The front was just at the outskirts of town. At the outskirts, there were zombies trying to slowly walk inside. This wasn't a job for my sword, rather I needed my carrier to do this for me. My carrier summoned at my side and I climbed in. The feeling of power quickly surged in me.

I shot ahead into the small crowd of zombies when suddenly I was swarmed by many zombies. All I had to do was dodge and shoot. Wasn't too hard at first but soon the zombies spawned like wildfire and I had to repeatedly back out of the front to recover.
Fighting the Zombie Horde
Soon enough the onslaught was over and I had prevailed all with the help of my carrier. I stepped out of my carrier and picked up the loot on the ground. It was mainly copper with a few items here and there. I wish Lemos told me about the zombie horde, I felt unprepared mentally.

I went back to Lemos, ready to complain but he noticed that I was battle wrecked. So he told me to visit a doctor and see if I could help him. Well that was probably as close to a thank you as it could get from Lemos. Doctor Gerhard was located at the docks.
Finding Doctor Gerhard
He was taking care of a few patients when I arrived. I told him that Lemos sent me here and he told me to pick up some Silver Leaf Herbs. Wow, the moment I arrive here, he gives me a quest. How rude! But I didn't let that show. I just picked up my gear and went to find some leaf herbs. After picking them up, I went back to the doctor and he gave me a new sword. Apparantly this sword was one of the soldier's who had just died. The soldier wanted people like me to have it and so the doctor held on to it until he could find someone special. Well, now i got myself a new sword!

And then the doctor asked the strangest thing. He wanted me to perform an operation on one of the soldiers. He gave me a syringe and pushed me away. I have no idea what to do, so I just went up to a soldier and injected him with the green medicine.
Performing an Operation
Then the doctor noticed me and told me to go to Bland Rock and pointed in a direction. I followed his mark and went that way. Bland Rock was at the end of the dock and was assisted by two guards. He admired my concern for the dying soldiers and reassured me that supplies were on the way. He then introduced me to War Mode and sent me off to work.

I went to meet my next quest giver. He was far away and I had to follow the railroad to get to him. My bike was fast and the wind was nice in my hair.
Beasts on the Railroad
Off in the distance I saw flying beasts hooked to a ship. It blocked the railroad. Nearby it was my quest giver. Instead of talking to him, I backed away and setup camp in the desert sand.

PSA 5/27/14 Memorial Day

PSA

So I hoped everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day weekend (USA). Innovatus was offline during the weekend and MajorGenius was also sick before the weekend had started. So our posts were delayed due to that.

Do expect posts to be online again starting this week.

Day 5 of Black Gold: Alphachruch of the Buvontians

Initial Reaction:

So I made another character to just play through the story before blogging it down. The story is great but the quests feel like grinding, but at the same time the quest requirements are really small.

First Person Role Playing

I woke up next to Eric, he was way too close to me but was still asleep. I got up and arranged everything in my bag and left Eric to sleep there. I got out of the tent and checked my quest log. I needed to to submit a quest to Eric. I ran back to Eric and shook him awake. "Wha-what!" he said. I immediately took him about the quest and asked him to sign it off. He signed it off and went back to sleep. Happy, I went back outside and looked my next quest. I had to investigate the source of the pollution in the river next to all the Darkfire Commandos. I carefully bypassed the Commandos and got to the river. Next to the river were several machines that were pouring dust out. That was probably the source of the pollution. I checked out the machine and collected a little sample. The sample was filled with small dust particles, this was definitely the source.
Investigating the Pollution

The man I had to meet now is Ashley Kadden, when did he get here? I walked to him and told him about the pollution in the river. He was surprised to see me too and he greeted me very nicely. He acknowledged my specimen and told me to get back his other scout. Her name was Merien and she was somewhere inside the Darkfire factory.

The factory was swarming with Darkfire troops and fighting them was my only option. It was worth it since my sword hasn't felt the touch of blood in awhile. I found Merien inside an old warehouse. She had similar clothing, the same that I had. Merien was quiet and looked like a person of patience and peace. She noticed my dress and told me that it was great to see me in a place like this. I agreed, seeing a non-contaminated person is great. She liked serving Ashley Kadden, but she had her own reasons. Her father worked here until it got poisoned. Her father died here as well, but his ghost still roams the land. His name was Capello LeBlanc. His ghost was actually right next to me. And so, with my majestic sword, sliced him away. This made Merien very happy to see her father finally rest in peace.

Defeating Capello LeBlanc
Her next quest for me was to was to report this information to Simias Lockfall. The Darkfires were re-exposing the poison in this factory. Simias was really far away and so the motorbike was the quickest way to get to him. Dirtbiking was really fun and none of the Darkfires could catch up to me. Once I found Simias, he was escaping the Darkfires. His quest was to defeat the Darkfires for him while he took a break.

The Darkfire Interceptors were heavily armed warriors with giants drills as their main weapons. I just needed to block the drills and attack at their core multiple times and that defeated them. After beating three Interceptors, Simias called me back and asked me to escort him to the next town. I accepted since that was where I was going. We had to meet Lemos Layir. The town was mostly empty but very big. There were railroad tracks that led as far as the eye could see in one direction and the other side was a dock. Lemos stood in the middle next to a teleport device. Lemos asked me to upgrade my Broken Arrow Energy Chip and report back to him. He then told me to collect some energy, and come back to recharge the Typhoon Assault. After that, Lemos handed me a carrier blueprint and told to get it built. This was going to be my carrier. My next quest was to go to Zinsen Island with my carrier. This was going to be quite nostalgic. I got into the portal and saw Magnus Wellington.
Collecting Energy

Magnus was delighted to see me again, alive and strong. He ordered me to get on a carrier and scout the area and find out the damage to our troops. Seeing the battle, I remembered my loss against the lava monster. The carrier dropped me off next to Magnus again. This time he ordered me to go into battle and defeat the Doomsday. I didn't know what Doomsday was but I went along with it.

Fighting with my carrier
I summoned my carrier and fought of multiple targets on my path to Doomsday. The carrier was super strong and had no problems getting past people. As I walking forward a meteor landed to the left of me. This was just like the lava monster I fought before. This must be Doomsday. I ran over to him and rapidly shot him. He was losing energy very fast but I was pushing the limits of my carrier. The carrier was breaking down a little bit, but so was Doomsday. I shot cannonballs and then Doomsday fell.
Fighting Doomsday
Other carrier arrived and finished Doomsday. I then got an alert that my teleport time was over and I was going back to the town. While we were cheering about our victory, I got teleported back to the town and met Lamos. I ended my day by getting my reward from Lamos. He told me that he needed to see me early the next day.

Day 6 of Black Gold: MajorGenius of the Yutonians

Initial Reaction:
I had an amazing moment in the game. I was just running up a hill with my mount when suddenly, a beautiful scene appeared. I started to enjoy the small things and I love the graphics now. It is so great. This suns rise is so beautiful and I enjoyed just standing there watching it for a good thirty seconds, just appreciating how much work that Snail and the developers did on this game.

Role Playing:
As I headed to join to the garrison, I meet a Fran Gnia. She is part of the garrison in which I was supposed to meet up with. She seems rather concerned with the disappearance of the General Antonio and Catherine. She tells me where some of the rebels may be. She also says that there is a giant crystal of power which supports the rebels. I remember what the rebels did to the people of the towns and was enraged. I started running in a rage. I ran past where a village was lying in rumble and I end up at an ancient ruin that has been partially demolished, in the center, there is the source of power that Fran must have been talking about. I ran past Egransar and swung my battleaxe and destroyed the source of power in one solid blow. Egransar turns around feeling sick. He throws up and his puke spills out everywhere. He turns around and gives me a dirty look, "WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING". He jumps towards me in a blind foward. He jumps straight into his vomit and skids on the ground. Looking at him on the ground. I smashed his face in with my battleaxe and smirked. This is revenge for General Antonio. This is what you deserve. You changed him, made him into a monster, I will never forgive you even after death. I sprinted away, happy I defeated that monster. Fran thanks me and tells me to hurry up and get to the garrison, she wanted me to find Catherine otherwise the garrison will fall apart. Understanding the risk, I ran as fast as I could to get to the garrison.
Unfortunately, they do not have any information for me and want me to do something else. They asked me if I could help find the mayor of a missing town. I begin my search talking to a Crowdo Ulver, he told me that a ghost by the name of Cobas Dusklight appeared in town and he was torturing the townsfolk. He asked me if I could deal with him and maybe it will reveal some information about their mayor. I ran to the town square, a mile away from where Crowdo had set up camp, there it was, Cobas Dusklight. A giant ghost monster. It was huge and terrifying. I had trouble lifting up my axe to fight it just out of pure fear. I managed to destroy it though and secured the protection of the town for a bit longer. As I was heading back, a scout caught up to me, he told me that Crowdo also needed some power crystals so he can insure that Cobas does not come back again. I manage to find some off of the ghosts remains and I quickly summoned my mount and sped back to meet Crowdo. He thanked me for the crystals and performed a ritual to cleanse the crystals of the dark magic taint, however, as he was doing this, the magic affected me and I fell asleep instantly.

Day 5 of Black Gold: MajorGenius of the Yutonians

Initial Reaction:
This isn't much of an initial reaction anymore because it is day 5 of playing the game. However, whilst finishing up with the blog post, we decided that we are gonna upload some gameplay on youtube for the audience.
Ok there is one great thing that I have to mention because I just discovered it, the auto movement for the game. Its is such a good mechanic and I don't know why some MMORPG's don't have that preinstalled. It is one of the best mechanics in the game and I would personally have to give you a little golden star. Good Job!

P.S: One of the coolest things about this game is being transported by a flying dragon. How cool is that?

Role Playing:
I awaken from my slumber next to my good friend Frand Sammu. I am on a hill with a mossy paved road that flows throughout the village and through its highways. There is a strange portal that has once teleported me into the war front on my left. In front of me, there are two magnificent Razor Talons, great beasts of ferocity and strength. Frand tells me that it would be good to go and help defeat some more of the Black Prince's army. The rebels. My fists clench just by thinking of them. They poisoned a beautiful lake and they are thieves and the scum of society, the only people comparable to them are the Heretics who are attempting to steal our land and they might be even better the the Black Prince's army. However, part of me wonders, how does the Black Prince's army still have unity? How are they still working together even after their leader was defeated? I think about this as I follow the path to meat Sam Ondar, a man who can help me find a passage into the nest of some of the Black Prince's forces. Sam Ondar picks me up with a dragon and flies me to the coast, where it is rumoured that some of the Black Prince's forces remain. As Sam drops me off, he tells me to find Chiron Salifin in a nearby campsite where they prepare to attack the forces.
I land on the coast and see the light gray smoke of a campsite. I walk to the site and talk to Chiron, a strange human fish combonation. The majority of his exterior is yellow and he has a giant spinal cord that is extended out of his body where spikes are coming out of it. He wears a loincloth around his crotch and I am certain that I don't want to find out why. His body is completely muscular and he speaks rather aggressively. He is a fierce believer in the Sea God and like our people, who believe in the sun god are against those who claim that our god does not exist. He gives me a horn of the sea god, a magnificent horn, which could probably play music if tuned right, and sends me off to defeat an insolent tribal man. I do so and Chiron is pleased by my actions, he tells me that the rebel soldiers here are no small fry and that you have to be prepared in order to face them. I summon my Razor Talon and mount it up, prepared for battle against the rebels who oppose Chiron. By doing such, I have made Chiron, forever in my debt.
Chiron informs me that creature by the name of Ment Smallcarp had taken complete control of the rebel forces and is now dominating the island. In order for the Goldfin Warriors (Chiron's warriors) to assist us with our task of vanquishing the Black Prince's forces, we must help them rid them of Ment Smallcarp, another nonbeliever of the Sea God. I learned something very important about Chiron. He takes consideration of a man's honor before taking action. Chiron could easily crush him and his men, however he chooses not to because it would look bad on Ment's honor if he were so easily defeated by the reigning warriors, however, if he were defeated by an unknown warrior, his pride would still remain entact, although his body may not be. Eager with anticipation, I start to run to attack Ment Smallcarp. I run down a huge mountain and sprint past multiple tribal men and eventually arrive in front of Ment.
Ment Smallcarp is no small fish. He is huge. He is about as big as Chiron, if not bigger. He is coated in a blue color but the spikes that appear out of his back and his tail or a solid pink. He is about twice the size of me. However, this only makes me more excited. I get to defeat such a huge monster. This is my lucky day. It is in the way of my goal to vanquish the Black Prince's forces. It is my objective to defeat this monster. I summon my Razor Talon once again. Mount it, and then I charge. Its ferocious teeth rip off Ment's arms. I jump off of the Razor and slice Ment clean through his chest with my battle axe. It was a quick defeat for Ment and a rather joyous victory for me. I report back to Chiron, pleased of my battle. He tells me great news, the army is on the move. We are going to make a counter strike soon, and nearby. I smile with excitement, but then I slowly fall down, exhausted. Before I black out, I remember one thing. The Black Prince. He caused all of this. I swear that if he still resides on this land. I will destroy him.

Day 4 of Black Gold: Alphachruch of the Buvontians

Initial Reaction:

This time while playing, I noticed a problem with fighting. Mainly with the skills. It was hard to know when the skill was in cooldown and it required me to look away from my target to check. That was quite annoying to me. The new location was really cool and I felt immersed. Also, when I'm fighting and walking in one direction but face the target to fight, the attack faces the way I was walking and misses. That costed me some time while playing. There was also lag between my attacks and the target actually getting hurt from them and making the damage animation.

First Person Role Playing

I awoke from my nap in the dirt. I stood up and brushed the dirt off me and opened my quest log. From yesterday, I had to defeat some Steam Brawlers in order to recover cable car parts. My notes revealed the location, a little while to the west and I would find a litter of them. I summoned my motorcycle and I rode due west to the marked location on my map. The Steam Brawlers were actually closer to my location than I had expected and so I jumped off my bike and pulled out my massive sword. The brawlers were giant metal structures with knobs and valves everywhere.

They had steam coming out of their arms and back. There were also sparks flying out of its abdomen. I need to watch out for those sparks and make sure to not come in contact with the burning steam. I slashed quickly using my Upper Cut and Pivot Strike as my main attacks. Each time, I avoided the abdomen successfully. The metal monster fell down quickly and I retrieved the parts from it. There were more elsewhere and it didn't look like I had enough parts. While dropping these monsters, I met another warrior fighting them. He had magic abilities and was also collecting parts. He was probably doing the same quest. I decided to leave him alone, I preferred fighting alone after all.

The parts were soon collected and I drove back to Fareson the Head Guard. He took the parts with glee and gave me the next misson's details. There have been sightings of Ash Scouts. The word scouts made me feel like we were exposed. Fareson noticed that and he told me that they might connected to bigger Darkfire groups. He pushed me away and wished me good luck. I went the opposite way this time to get to the Ash Scouts. I had soon entered Rockway County, a deserted and dusty place with cactus everywhere. There were also a lot of enemies along the way. I decided to fight them so that I would get stronger. There were many wolves and scuttlers in the way. Taking them down was easy and I didn't even lose any damage. That's when I saw my real target, the scouts. I had no idea how they were going to fight so I just charged at them and that seemed to work. The Ash Scout was surprised and didn't fight back immediately. I successfuly flinched him! I just stroke again and again and in three hits, he was down.
He didn't have much to loot off him though. No notes or anything, just some coin. The second scout I fought was more prepared, he wore a suit and even dodged my attacks but he still lost to me and I took his coins as well. After defeating three of them, I ended up with coins and some Black Gold Fragments, not sure what those are for yet. It seems I could make something with them, maybe a strong weapon!

The quest needed to be handed into Agra Fered. I saw him on my way towards the Ash Scouts actually. He was hiding in the corner with another scout, a friendly. Agra was happy that I restored some peace to Kugu Town but he was still worried. I asked him what worried him and he told me that his friend had went up to Dagor Town and hasn't come back. He asked me to make sure he was okay. I felt bad and accepted the quest. Agra promised me a new coat if I succeeded! I really like upgrading my armor and weapons so this really gave me the incentive. The path to the marked spot on the map was far and on the way was a young man in steam armor. He told me to stop. I talked to him and then he told me that there were Darkfire Commandos ahead. I thanked him for the advice and asked his name. He was Eric, just the guy I was looking for!
He gave me the coat that Agra promised and told me face some of those Commandos. They seemed to have a diary that Eric needed. I fought one Commando and found the diary!

I gave it back to him and we both rested at a place he set up. I learned a new skill that used flips to increase the sword's momentum and I couldn't wait to use it! He was young and good looking but this wasn't any time to flirt. I examined my new coat and went to sleep.

Day 3 of Black Gold: Alphachruch of the Buvontians

Initial Reaction

This game is turning out to be very fun. The story really engages me to keep playing. Right now I'm at school playing, that's how fun I think the game is. I hope this doesn't let me down and I hope that after polishing up the game, it would look amazing as it is to play. Also, this is a problem but I experience a bit of lag when I open the character or bag menu.

First Person Role Playing

Today I woke up in the inn pretty late. Outside was just as busy as it was last night. I packed up my stuff and checked out of the inn. The innkeeper was delighted that a young lady like me stayed at her inn in these troubling times. I got out and checked my quest log. I still needed to check in with some other people around town. Tsk! An unfinished quest, how disgusting. I summoned my motorbike and went around the stone town to find Joshen Larei. He was across from the inn and I very quickly jolted to his side.
Joshen was a clean man with a nice hat. He seemed very busy in the trifles of the town but he liked that Ashley Kadden had my trust and so he asked me to check on a very suspicious stranger. I didn't quite understand what he meant since most of the people here looked like strangers and so what made this new guy different?

I left Joshen as quick as I found him and went around to find a "suspicious" stranger. He/she was hard to find actually, I searched everywhere in town and even left town multiple times to search for him. While searching, I asked a woman in soldier like clothing about any she knows. Her name was Cassandra Neville and she was a tall blonde with really clean skin, surprisingly in this industrial dust. I asked her why she was here and immediately, she told me that she was of no harm but she understood why people would think she was part of the Darkfire movement. I didn't know what to say since I didn't even mention anything of the movement to her. On my way back to Joshen, I found a rotten corpse nearby. I wanted to check on the dead man that was still dressed in his brown overcoat and all but he was quite smelly and it made my body unable to go near him. (This was a game problem, I couldn't "interrogate" him) After building up courage and closing my nose I checked his body and found a Broken Flag. This alarmed my greatly so I went back to Cassandra to discuss about it.

When I went to her she was also surprised that the corpse had a flag with him. She didn't expect this but also had nothing to help me with it but she still awarded me with 50 coin. Before I left, she asked me to spread a good name about her, and she gave me a new skill! Yay, I now have 4 skills to annihilate my targets. I walked back to Joshen. The corpse was very repulsive. I got back to Joshen and he was still next to the gear in the town square. I told him that Cassandra could be trusted, he believed me but was still unsure. He then sent me on another quest, to meet another person. This time it was about the Darkfires. Joshen told me that the Darkfires were originally meant to overthrow the Buvontian government but now they attack civilians as well. This is a serious issue, attacking innocent civilians. The guy I had to meet was the Head Guard named Fareson Suor. I told him that I was from Joshen and he smiled.
Then he told me that my help was greatly needed. The annoying Darkfires were taking cable car parts that we needed in order to travel quickly. He told me to recover the parts and kill the Darkfire members that took them. I accepted his quest and told him I would be on it immediately after a short break.

Day 4 of Black Gold: MajorGenius of the Yutonians

Initial Reaction:
As a HUGE fan of Game of Thrones I am loving these events. I had a huge grin on my face when I read this one. I find it extremely cool that there are so many events, its just a beta test and it feels like there is gonna be something new every day. This game has a lot of promise, I hope they don't change too many of the concepts of the game.
One complaint I have of the game so far is that the companion's movement is easily altered. I had to alt-tab to take one picture and it took a while for me to figure out that I had to press alt again for the beast to move normally. Although it may have been because I hid the HUD, I feel like the game should make changing movement to be a more difficult task than simply pressing a button.

Role Playing:
I wake up on the beach, a man by the name of Nafarin is nudging me, telling me to be prepared for battle. I am back at that same beach, where the giant metal abomination had completely destroyed me and my companion. Metal is on fire everywhere and there are highly trained soldiers that look ready for combat. I am glad to accept any mission for the Sun God. Nafarin asks me to scout around the beach and see if there are any heretics coming to destroy us. I gladly begin to run, but I hear him laugh, I turn around and ask him, "Why are you laughing?". He smiles and says, "you will not be doing your scouting on foot, you will scout on a dragons back". He gives a sharp whistle and a dragon swoops down and lands a mere meter away from me. I stand there, mindblown. I have an opportunity to ride a dragon, a creature of myth and legend.
As I ride through on the dragon I am enraged. There are men with metal contraptions that fly about in the air without using the gift of nature. This is unacceptable, we must vanquish these insolent men for our Sun God. Our warriors are braving the fight right now, they ride on dragons attacking these strange machines. I want to help to. I want to crush the enemy that is ravaging this beautiful beach. I saw men destroying the contraptions. We must win, FOR THE SUN GOD! I get on my mount and charge in the battlefield, there are two giant mechanical spiders that shoot out some weird energy beam. I rush them and destroy them on my Razor. I feel unstoppable. My Razor and I destroy these mechanical nightmares and keep on charging through the battlefield. I find it. The mechanical monster that ravaged me the last time. I charged it with my Razor feeling a lot more powerful than I had before. I managed to defeat the monstrosity and was heralded as a victor. My honor has been cleaned. These Heretics will lose this battle, and better yet, they will lose this war!

Day 2 of Black Gold: Alphachruch of the Buvontians

Initial Reaction:

So far the game seems sub-standard, not in a bad way though. It definitely needs a lot of touch up but I can understand that it's only in beta. I like the story concept and the whole tribe vs industrialization that it makes me recall the Manifest Destiny and Westward Expansion in the US. The cave was made beautifully and reminded me of Skyrim's dungeon to be honest. Also, I think playing the game in Black Gold Mode is the easiest way to not die.

First Person Role Play

I awoke next to the path and a old rusted car. The sky was clear and the wind was slightly cold. In the distance I saw many Darkfire paratroopers. Yesterday, I was heading towards a dungeon that Murphy Langman spoke to me about. I could see the cave opening in the distance and so I ignored the paratroopers and headed to the cave.

When I got to the cave, it was closed shut by heavy iron doors, but as I got close a green portal opened up. Curious, I entered the portal and it took me into the Wizard's Hideout.
The cave was dark and only lit up by a few torches on the walls. There were mushrooms and foliage everywhere. It felt like someone had been here before. My sense of adventure piked up and I courageously took my steps forward. Deeper in the cave a warlock had magically appeared in front of me. It took the first attack, but I dodged and countered him with my Cunning Charge. Then I repeatedly used Upper Cut on him and finished him of with a solid strike of my new move: Riptide Strike. The warlock succumbed to my strength and died. Now I realized what Murphy meant by saying that the treasure was guarded and dangerous. I kept venturing in and met more enemies that I easily defeated.

I noticed that there were several trap laid ahead using magic. They were easy to dodge but I told me of the magic presense here. I later met it ahead. The beast's name was Rackham and he was dressed with rags and a magical looking backpack of sorts. His attacks were all magic and that made it hard to dodge but my sword was too strong for him. His battle took a little longer than the warlocks from before but I still managed to beat him.
As he died, I stole some copper and a Black Gold Fragment. The Black Gold Fragment could be useful later on. Behind the wet chamber we fought in was another path that eventually led to the treasure. The treasure box was a flat box that up to my knees in height. I was detailed with silver and blue crystals. Behind the box was a blue portal that probably led to the exit. Inside the box was a ring that felt powerful and the treasure itself. The exit portal took me back where I entered from and I decided to go to Murphy again.

When I got back to Murphy, he greeted my and noticed that I had the treasure. He was excited that beat the Wizard and he gave me 5 Green Experimental Crystals. He also instructed me to use the Path of the Warrior and a Broken Arrow Energy Chip. Murphy then became serious and said that the Darkfire plot in Kugu Town was over but it was worse ahead. He told me to go to Worth Morgan. I told him it was a long trip and after considering he gave me a mount, a steam powered motorcycle. I took the mount from him happily and bid him farewell. After upgrading my Broken Arrow Energy Chip using the Green Crystals, I mounted up and rode the motorcycle to Worth.
Morgan was actually just up the path, maybe it felt short because of the mount, thanks Murphy! I told Morgan who I was and he immediately told me to give a letter to Olte Karu. It seems that he believes the Darkfire movement is't over Kugu town. I went into Kugu town and met with Olte Karu. He realized that I was helping him and he rewarded me something too big for a small task. He gave me a new sword that was bigger and shinier that my novice sword. This sword was golden and pulsated a fiery color. He then told me that my work was not done and I had to go visit Oma Humes, a merchant.

I thought to myself, these quests were tiring and I decided to take a rest after meeting with the merchant. Oma Humes was just a man with a big backpack. He tried to sell me many things while I talked to him. He told me that he was a strict business man, but that didn't look like it got him too far since he was still a street vendor. I found myself an inn and checked in. Before sleeping down after a long day of dungeon exploring and quests I looked out the window at the beautiful Kugu Town. I was so clean and filled with many people with many different types of contraptions. I really admired the huge gear in the middle that symbolized the never ending work I had gotten myself into. And with that I fell on the bed and slept soundly.

Day 3 of Black Gold: MajorGenius of the Yutonians

Day 3 Journal Entry:

Initial Reaction:
I love the mount system now, indefinitely, I can own more than one mount at a time and its really simple to tame a mount. The mounts are absolutely great looking and they aren't just for show, they improve the speed of the movement significantly.

Role Playing:
I hear the birds chirping and I wake up with a yawn. My beast right besides me, laying down. As I rise, I notice just how beautiful the Sun is today and so I get on my knees and I pray, I pray to the Sun God to give me strength to vanquish the heretics that threaten our land and our lifestyle. I run through the path and meet up with Carol Silver, a mage who hate the Black Prince's army and wants to destroy them. She seems to have had a quarrel with her older brother because she treats him with disrespect. Out of nowhere, winged beasts appear and start decimating the land, I tell her that I have to go and at least attempt to save the people that were attacked. As I am about to leave , she stops me, she tells me to meet with her other brother, Ben Silver. I run to meet him and he has a job for me. He wants me to help defeat the Black Prince's bandits that are terrorizing the pumpkin fields. I clench my fists when I hear this, nails are pressing violently against my skin and I am in a rage. What possible motive can these people have to terrorize so many villages, why do they want to destroy our people? Is it for our land or is it for the pure excitement of murdering innocent villagers? I ride on my mount as quickly as I can and head out to the Pumpkin fields.  However, when I arrived at the fields, there were no bandits to be seen. Disappointed, I thought that the least I could do was to help eliminate the Boars that were ravaging the crops and harvest pumpkins for the village. The village was very grateful and gave me better armor than I had before. I felt indebted to this country, this beautiful land whose people care about helping each other. Why must the Heretics destroy it.

I talked to Ben Silver again and he gave me some startling news: A general has appeared near the town. He arranged for me to have a magnificent beast carry me across the land to travel towards this general. Ben wanted me to alert the general of the movement of the Black Prince's troops. Suddenly the beast came out of nowhere and picked me up. It was beautiful. It reminded me of the dragons of the old age. Its scales glistening against the sun, its beauty almost indescribable.
The beast dropped me off in front of a villager leader, the Highview Town Defense Leader, Alvina Brando. She said she was going to direct me to where the General is, I am getting extremely excited for the encounter with such a great figure. She told me that the General has been captured. A couple of warlocks had come and captured him. It is my job to go and get him back and save him from the warlocks. However, when I finally reached him, he changed. He looks like he turned into a Heretic. He tells me that a blood withering fungus may help reverse the effects of the poisoning. I found some in the gave, it s a queer looking mushroom that has some weird odor that comes out. I gave it to him and he ate it. Unfortunately, he said he needs to kill. He can' t control himself. Feeling depresed, I headed back to Alvina and told her that he wanted her to forget about him. Alvina seemed rather upset, she said "Why does it always have to be like this". I felt deep sorrow for this woman who obviously wants her community to thrive but because of the Heretics, can not do so. Out of nowhere, teh doomsday cult of the children of the sun attacked the town of Highview, not wanting to let Alvina feel any more harm, I banded together with a couple of fellow travelers and eliminated the threat, before she could even get word of it.
I meet a man by the name of Frand Sammu by chance. He happened to be a mount teacher, he taught me how to tame a Razor Talon. These beasts are truly magnificent. They are a lot thinner than the Armored Hellhoof, but they are just as fierce looking. He gave me a mount and then sent me to a mysterious island through his portal. However, when I came out of the portal, I fell unconscious immediately.

Day 1 of Black Gold: Alphachruch of the Buvontians

Hello everyone, this is my version of the new MMO: Black Gold. I have been playing MMOs for 4 years now and tipped my toes in many different games. I really hope to give a good representation of the game as well as a good story experience.

Initial Reaction

Since I have played many other MMOs, my experience would be very critical. The graphics are really nice and nothing to fancy but shows the game in a really nice presentation. The HUD is not in the way and that really helps since there is a lot going on in game. It has a traditional movement system where the camera is adjusted by the right click. I started off as a female blade master and the class really follows my style of playing, as I hoped it would. The movement isn't very dynamic since it's a 8-direction movement system that is really noticeable. Combat is quite generic, which isn't a problem at all. Interestingly enough, I had to run the game on Low-Level graphics settings and that was still with lag. The game itself is a really cool idea and I liked the race based classes since it wouldn't make sense to give the tribal race a mechanized class. I'm enjoying the game and really hope to progress to high levels.

First Person: Role Playing

Hi, I'm Alphachruch of the Buvontian. This is my first day on Black Gold Online. I am placed in between a war between the Erlandir and our modern army, the Isenhorst. We arrived on the enemy island with a ship loaded with our finest mechs and the greatest warriors. We suffered many defeats and had many victories and today I want to be part of our legacy.

After getting off at Zinsen Island, I was greeted by Magnus Wellington, and I watched as all troops stormed from the ship to the shores. After the army ran ahead, I went further down the shore and was immediately met with Erlandir forces. My skills with my trusty sword came in handy as I sliced away his charms and other nonsense and then defeated him. With that trifle I felt strong and kept going inside the island. Ahead was the village and there were flames and smoke that I could see from here. Alongside me were my fellow warriors that faught off the Erlandir and their winged carriers. Magnus told me that there was a mech on the path ahead of me, and he said that it was mine to use. The mech was strong and had a nice brown color that emitted the industrialization. I sat in the cockpit and turned the key, with that the engine roared to life and I was driving ahead. My attacks were too strong for the oncoming Erlandir and I defeated them simply but shooting from my mini gun. At the end of the path, seemingly out of no where, a lava monster arose. I shot and shot and used missles as well but this was too strong for my rank. I was unprepared for this challenge and I had lost. Eventually, I was found under the rubble of the battle and we had all seen the damage to our forces. It was sad but at least I survived my first battle.

I awoke in the village and noticed that I was completely healthy. To my left was the Garrison Leader Spud Nollet. He noticed that I was from Zinsen Island but he didn't want to talk about it that much because he was also a veteran. We also talked about the Darkfire rebellion and how they didn't like the new steam technology. I fear that one day Ashley Kadden might get assassinated, and I think he should get more protection. Spud also wanted me to meet Ashley himself. I headed west to start my quest. He was standing next to the dirt path in a black coat and a fedora on his head. He seemed to really hate the Darkfire and asked my to serve by defeating some Darkfire Arsonists that were ahead. I walked up to one and he attacked me. Obviously, I could not let this go so I brought out my sword and sliced him away. I killed another paratrooper and this time I noticed that when I fought, black energy would come out of my back in the shape of wings. That looked really cool!
This seemed to be enough to show the Darkfires that enough was enough so I returned to Ashley and he applauded my victory. He also gave me some coin to appreciate me.

He then told me to go visit Laurence Ford. Laurence was right across the bridge over the river. He told me about the horrors of poisoned villagers at Dagor Village. Mr. Ford also said that the corrupted Buvontian officers were the real people at fault. He really thought that Darkfires could stop the bleak future made by people like Ashley Kadden. Next up, I had to find Anderson Peres. I thought following the path would take me to him. He was in a factory that was on the right side of the path. I informed him of the Darkfires not agreeing for a truce. He sounded as if he expected that even thought the Darkfire numbers were low here. I had to go meet Murphy Langman to discuss more of the dam and the Darkfires. Anderson gave me a nice steam powered ride to get there.
I'm really surprised as to how fast it got me to Murphy. He was worried about the Darkfires and asked me to lower their paratroopers.

Across from him were a bunch of scattered paratroopers. I walked up to one and he had no response. My mission was to kill, or at least make sure he couldn't do anything. I fought him and won. I decided I should do more than kill one but also kill another so that they really can't hurt us. I ran back over to Murphy Langman and told him the job was done. He rewarded me with 40 coins and declared that he would ask the Royal Army to send some anti-air carriers here. That seemed like a good idea. Before I left, Murphy told me about a dungeon with great treasures inside but were guarded my many beasts. He told me to check one out because he thought I was strong enough. After leaving him and walking toward the dungeon I decided to rest for the day. While resting I tried out a new skill that I perfected while fighting.
The skill was strong and could slice through and tree or Darkfire. Satisfied I laid down to sleep. Tomorrow i would be entering a dungeon to find shiny treasure!

Day 2 of Black Gold: MajorGenius of the Yutonians

Day 2 Journal Entry:

Initial Reaction:
For the dungeon, I absolutely loved how the developers made the entrance to it; a green vortex that is hidden, unless you can find a secret point. It seems like a proper dungeon in which treasure might actually be hidden, and I have to give them credit for this. I also find the concept of challenging a dungeon alone to be good because you will not always have a party around and if you are playing alone, you can solo the dungeon instead of waiting to get a full party.
At the moment the mount system is really cool. I appreciate how easy it is to summon your mount and the simplicity of using. I don't believe there is any recharge rate of summoning your companion, if there is it is not noticeable. I love my mount in which you will see a picture of in the bottom. The mounts are really cool and I hope that you will be able to get a variety of different mounts.

Role Playing:

I woke up staring at the lake, lying down near it. I yawned and stood up. I went back to report to Mr. Silver and told him that the antidote was placed in the lake. He told me that I should tell his son, Mike Silver that  the supplies that are coming will be delayed. He gave me some kind of bird that could run fast. It had beautiful feathers , a thick tail, two thin legs, a beautiful beak and a sole horn. I continue on the trail until I see some abandoned bags. I got off of the bird and it disappeared into the woods. I proceeded to inspect the bags and inside of them there was some fragments of stone. I picked up 26 pieces of ore.

His son, Mike Silver, is a shepard who lives further along in a station wagon. He seemed grateful for my help in helping the village. He thanked me for giving him the information with two silver. When I tried to refuse, he would not have any of it, forcing the money upon me. I spent time talking to Mike about some rumors I heard in town about the Black Prince's army. Mike told me that the Black Prince's followers have an officer in a nearby dungeon. He warned me that going to the dungeon is perilous, but I had a duty to fulfill, to protect my country and I must do that no matter the cost. I headed out to the dungeon and bravely ventured inside.

I noticed that the dungeon had a lot of flora in the inside. There were some weeds and fungus, even  a bush or two. I noticed that in entering the dungeon there is a gigantic spiders web where the caves formations are. There are spiders dancing around and hanging from the web. I walk forward cautiously, I have no clue what might happen. There are torches on the walls that are already lit, maybe Mike was right, there are followers here. A wizard's servant ambushes me, jumps out from a corner and starts to attack. I rush him with my battleaxe and take him down. Even more nervous, I continue on in the dungeon. As I was moving forward, a boulder rolled down and almost crushed me. This task may prove to be too much. Just as I continued moving, another wizard servant ambushed me. I managed to fend off this attacker without taking any damage. With pride, I continue moving along the path. I encountered my first booby trap, spikes came up and almost stabbed me but I hesitated before moving forward. Rackham the enchanter came and proceeded to attack me, I suppose he set up the booby trap. I managed to take him down, but he did a fair bit of damage towards me. Right past Rackham, I found a Treasure Box, the end of the dungeon. I received the Wizard's treasure and headed back to meet with Mike and discuss the dungeon.

Mike was astounded of my feat and rewarded me more silver again, I do not know why he keeps on giving me money, but I hesitantly take it once more. He also gives me a Razor Guradian Soul which supposedly boosts my ability for combat. I thank him as I feel like I will definately need to fight in the future if I am to save my land from the heretics in the west. He gives me a box that contained an Armored Hellhoof. I thank him again. The people in this village are so kind and caring for a stranger that has never set in this place before. I ask him if I could do anything just to help him out. Reluctantly he agreed to let me help find some food for his  goats. I collected some fresh trench leaves and proceeded to give it to him. I still feel indebted to these people that have taught me so much and gave me so much life experience. I begged him, let me help you please, you all have done so much for me. He told me that there was nothing that I could do here now, that the villagers have the situation in their control. However he asked me to see if his sister in a nearby town is alright, he fears for her safety because the Black Prince's army has taken movement close to her town. My mount and I decided to rush there as soon as possible but then I collapsed, out of weariness.

Day 1 of Black Gold: MajorGenius of the Yutonians

Hello and welcome to my reactions to the MMORPG Black Gold. The plan is that I am going to have two versions of my adventures in the MMORPG Black Gold, a version in which that I am immersed in the character and a version in which I am in a third person point of view.

Initial Reaction

The following is a recount of the adventure I had in the Day One of the closed beta. My original impression of the game was great. I immediately connected the Sun God in which they were praying to, to be related to  Aztec and Solaire Astora from Dark Souls. The games graphics are buggy at first and not the best, however this is to be expected since it is only in Beta. In my opinion this game has a lot of potential and I am excited to continue playing this game. The story of the Yutonians and the alliance against the modern era seems to be a great story line. I am excited to get on and play through the story and play as a mechanical character after finishing this story line. The concept of mages vs mechanical reminds me a bit of the conquest for South America in which the Spanish and other European countries annihilated the natives.

First Person: Role Playing

Hello, my name is MajorGenius, a Yutonian in Black Gold Online. This is Day One of the closed beta and I have decided to become a Beast Master. The story as of now has decided to insert me into a war between Erlandir and the heretics who are trying to destroy us. An enemy ship arrived to the port and is now attempting to destroy our village. I killed my first Isenhorst soldier with my battleaxe, I pray that my ancestors are proud of my feat. I have got my first companion, a Homodont Beast. This beast is like a majestic wolf with horns and tusks who will be my battle partner. As I rode him, I felt a surge of power like nothing I have ever felt before. I felt connected with the Beast, it was my new partner. I threw my spear at two rangers and annihilated them, almost instantaneously.

Suddenly, a metal abomination appeared out of nowhere and attacked me. I gave a quick prayer to the Sun God and attacked it. Unfortunately, the machine overwhelmed me as I was enraged by the abomination of itself. I woke up in a village completely unscathed, however my Homodont Beast disappeared, he was nowhere to be found. In my grief an elderly man recognized me, however I have never seen him before. He gave me some money, said it was part of a quest. He then asked me to examine the lake. Feeling obliged and thankful, I headed out to the lake, a mere 10 meters away from where we were talking.

The lake was absolutely beautiful. There were four wooden boats in perfect condition and there was a magical tree that was sprouting from the earth. The water was shimmering, the light reflecting on the surface.  However, I noticed that there were fish that were popping out of the water, dead. I was alarmed at this and went back to the village elder to tell him about the fish. He seemed quite worried over the conditions of the fish and the lake and told me to visit a Mr. Benson Silver, a healer. Mr. Benson Silver claimed that although the Black Prince was defeated, his followers remain true to their cause, to cause chaos in our world. Mr. Silver asked me to go and eliminate a thief that was a follower.

On my way to defeat the thief, I saw a Trench Ox. These are magnificent creatures that are all blue and have tusks and has wavy hair that blows in the wind. It is a bit fat and has feet that are strong and molded. They appear to be extremely fierce creatures. I saw the thief, she was a beautiful woman, however she was cruel for stealing from these townsfolk. I could not allow that to continue so I had to slay her. I headed back to Mr. Silver to tell him of the tale. After telling him of my feat, he praised me and revealed that he took part in the Holy War. As a reward, he gave me a trinket called Dawn. He tells me that in order to make an antidote for the fish, he needs to buy a neutralizer. I can not refuse such a man who is working to save the ecosystem of the lake. I met a merchant and manage to haggle the price of the neutralizer to one copper, with the neutralizer in hand, I quickly rushed to Mr. Silver in order to help him save the ecosystem. Mr. Silver quickly creates the antidote and hands it to me, pleading for me to go with haste to save the lake. I ended my journey for the day staring and that beautiful lake, cleansed of its disgusting poison.
